Mr. Walker was appointed the City Manager of Atoka in November 2005. A lifelong resident of the area, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position.

Mr. Walker began his career in public service in 1962 with the U.S. Postal Service. In 1964, he transferred to the McAlester Naval Ammunition Depot (now the Army Ammunition plant) and worked in administration. In 1966 he joined the fire department at the Army Ammunition plant, eventually becoming Assistant Fire Chief and in 1975, Chief of Fire Protection and Prevention. Following his retirement in 1992, Mr. Walker was appointed the Emergency Management Director for the City of Atoka. During his tenure as the Emergency Management Director, he was instrumental in obtaining and administering numerous grants for the City and schools in various areas.

Mr. Walker is also involved in ranching and land development. He serves on the Board of Directors for Ameristate Bank and is a deacon in his church.
